Three ways to play

Ranked 1v1

LP

30s · English · ±LP

You and an opponent near your level type the same English text for 30 seconds. Win and you gain LP, lose and you give some up. If no live opponent turns up, you're matched with a labelled ghost within seconds.

Battle Royale

Fun

8 players · 30s · no LP

Eight players race the same text in a single 30-second round. No LP involved. Empty seats are filled with labelled ghosts, and lobbies with ghosts don't give rewards.

Warm-up

Solo

15 · 30 · 60 · 120s

A classic speed test. Toggle punctuation, numbers, time or word-count options. No LP, made for warming up before a match.

League

Nine leagues, one global ladder

The first seven leagues are 400 LP wide, split into four 100 LP divisions (IV to I). Apex and Legend have limited seats: you need to be in the top 1000 for Apex and the top 500 for Legend.

Rules

How LP works

PlacementYour first 10 matches measure your level without changing LP. Starting LP is set slightly below that level.
Even matchWin +12 LP, loss −12 LP.
GhostGhost matches count for half (±6 LP).
UpsetsBeating a stronger opponent pays more; losing to a weaker one costs more.
Daily capYou can gain at most 200 LP per UTC day. Losses aren't capped.
Rank shieldsEntering a league gives you 3 shields that stop a drop into the league below.
LeavingCounts as a forfeit and costs more than a normal loss.
SeasonEach UTC month is a season. Players above 1200 LP get a partial reset.

Scoring and fair play

Clean typing beats fast typing

Match score
Net speed, accuracy, consistency and your longest correct streak are combined. Equal scores are a draw with no LP change.
Server-side checks
Every run is re-checked on the server from its keystrokes. Runs that get flagged stay off the board.
Labelled ghosts
Bots and ghosts are always labelled and shown with their run dates. You'll never think you're facing a real player when you aren't.
Daily goals
Daily and weekly goals, quests, a weekly chest and up to two streak freezes.
